Overcoming in Him
Psalm 20: 6-7 says this;
“Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD, our God.”
As I got up this morning to spend some time with the Lord and as I sat in His Presence to hear His Word, I had a vision of the Lord sitting high up on His throne, surrounded by clouds and angels singing, dancing and praising Him. Seeing Him sitting there, all my cares just melted away and all my problems became small and nothing in comparison to His majestic sight.
Just after I had this time, I opened the bible app on my iPhone and I got the scripture above. Wow, how wonderful is our God!
As you probably know, I am sitting in a new country (for me) right now, with not much at my hand since we left everything behind in Mexico. I arrived here, with my life packed into 3 suitcases, and a blowup bed waiting for me to sleep in. Everything is new for me; from the light switches outside the bathroom to driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road. Some things haven’t registered with me at all, and they are simply confusing for my mind.
Of course, my adventurous spirit kicked in right away. But even that can let you down when you sit in an almost empty house and you are not sure yet where God will lead you from here. (smile) Eventually, some doubts and questions rise up within you, and you wonder if this truly was God that led you.
I could even handle that, but what I wasn’t fully prepared for is the attacks that came our way. Satan surely knows that we are here, and he has been trying to oppose us every single step of the way.
This is a new level of warfare and things have not been pretty, let me tell you. You can get so quickly overwhelmed by his attacks. So much so that you want to throw in the towel – especially when you feel that the whole world and everybody in it suddenly has come against you.
Either you want to run away and hide, or you want to get in there in your own strength and try to defend yourself and trust in what YOU, as a person can do.
Well, looking at the scripture above both ways are wrong and the Lord has a better plan for His Anointed… which is to save His Anointed, and hear him with the saving strength of His right hand.
Perhaps you are in a situation right now as well, that sounds similar to mine. You have taken a step in faith and you followed where God said you should go. You arrived there, just to find the enemy opposing you beyond what you are capable of handling.
If you are feeling this way, I want you to rejoice today! I want you to stop all that you are doing and go into the Presence of the Lord to allow Him to be your Savior and strength in this time.
Do not fall into the temptation of Satan, to try and take him on in your own strength or to rely on your own great abilities and your own great knowledge to get you out of the situation. Don’t trust in the chariots or horses, they will not be able to save you.
If you are pressed against the wall and you find it hard to take a breath, throw your arms into the air and cry out to the Lord. He will come down and rescue you and open the way for you in amazing ways. Perhaps this won’t happen instantly. But what will happen is for His tender love to come down upon you and His peace that surpasses every understanding.
Trust in Him and trust in His Name. Cry out to Him and praise His holy Name today! God is there to save you and give you all that you need. Then once you have His strength, and are filled with His peace you can press on and take the right actions.
I pray that the Holy Spirit will fall upon you right now, as you read these words and that you feel a new anointing come upon you. May you experience your Savior in a new way, and see the heavens open up before you, just like I experienced it.
And remember, it doesn’t matter how big or how small your problem may be. God wants to help you out, no matter what.
